We believe that the best outcomes for children are achieved when educators and families work in partnership. We actively communicate with families throughout the day to provide updates on their child’s experiences, eating, sleeping, and toileting routines for peace of mind and consistency between our service and home. Families receive in-person updates from their children’s educators as well as regular daily app updates through our communication app, KinderM8.

Our daily rhythm provides consistency and certainty, balancing indoor and outdoor play, music, wellbeing activities, group and rest times, nutritious meals, and both spontaneous and intentional teaching. Regular toileting, hand washing, and nappy changes are maintained, with families kept informed about their child’s learning, eating, sleeping, and toileting routines through our family communication app.

Fuelling growing bodies with nutritious and balanced meals is an important part of how we support children’s complete development. Our in-house chef prepares five fresh meals and snacks daily that are based on the Australian Dietary Guidelines for children. We incorporate learning about nutrition into our program to provide a solid foundation for a healthy and active lifestyle

Key Features of our Program

Enrichment Programs

At Little Gumnuts, we take a holistic approach to child development, which is why we offer a variety of enrichment programs to support children’s complete development. Please note that not all programs are offered at all services, allowing us to tailor our offerings to best suit the needs of each community and child. To learn about the programs at your child’s service, please contact the centre.

School Readiness

Our school readiness program is designed to equip children aged 3-6 with the essential academic, social, and emotional skills they need to thrive in a formal school setting. Through a blend of structured learning and play, we focus on developing literacy, numeracy, communication, and independence, ensuring a smooth transition to kindergarten and beyond.

Sports Programs

Our sports and wellbeing program integrates daily ‘Munch n Move’ activities to promote physical health and motor skills among children, ensuring active engagement and fun. Additionally, each term features a sports activity tailored to the children’s interests and family feedback, fostering a love for movement and enhancing overall wellbeing through diverse and interactive play.

STEAM Learning

Our STEAM program focuses on science, technology, engineering, arts, and maths, providing a comprehensive early learning experience that fosters innovative thinking and problem-solving skills. By engaging children in interactive projects and activities that blend these disciplines, we nurture a passion for discovery and a deep understanding of how to create sustainable solutions from an early age.

Music & Movement

Our music and movement program is designed to enrich children’s physical coordination, rhythm, and expressiveness through dance, song, and instrumental activities. By integrating creative movement with musical exploration, we enhance their auditory and motor skills, fostering a joyful and stimulating environment for personal and artistic growth.

Bush Kindy

Our Bush Kindy program immerses children in the natural environment, encouraging exploration and learning through direct experiences with the outdoors. This program fosters a deep connection with nature, cultivates environmental awareness, and enhances physical and cognitive development through structured and spontaneous activities in natural settings.
